About
Registered Psychologist – Talent support – Before, during and after filming about mental distress/and or addiction.
In my 18 year part-time role as NZ Liaison for The International Initiative for Mental Health leadership I aimed to work for a more informed public on all health issues; and, better client/consumer outcomes, and more inclusive and creative communities for people with health, mental health, addiction and/or disability problems across all countries and communities with a focus on Māori (and other indigenous peoples), Pasifika peoples and across the lifespan.
Industry Experience
I have worked with advertising agencies hired by both the Ministry of Health and Te Hiringa Hauora/the Health Promotion Agency, to select and support people for mental health related TV advertising and website development for the National Depression Initiative (NDI), The Lowdown (for young people); and for the Like Minds anti-stigma campaign for over 25 years.
I have worked with John Kirwan over many years.
On one big shoot, every person involved came up to me to quietly disclose their own experience of mental distress (or that of their whanau/friends).
