Kia ora tātou. Nō Ngāti Manu, Ngāti Hine me Germany ōku tīpuna. Nō Tauranga-Moana ahau. Kei te noho au ki Tāmaki Makaurau. Ko Brinkmann tōku whānau. Ko Olivia tōku ingoa.

My name is Olivia and I am 24 years old. In the past I had lived in Ōtautahi Christchurch for three years. Down south I had worked part-time in the industry as a speech & drama teacher and a teaching artist, as well as being a Court Theatre Youth Company Member and an actor. Knowing that this was my passion, I decided to make my new home-base Tāmaki Makaurau and work in the industry full-time.

Home for me is Tauranga-Moana. Whilst I live in Tāmaki Makaurau, I travel to visit family often and have found myself spending a lot of my days here than anticipated. With this in mind, I am now a part of Film Bay of Plenty as I would love to do more work within the industry at home too. I am open to work as an actor, a producer, a production assistant, a production runner, and similar work within these respective areas of the industry.

I love being outdoors – particularly going for walks, skiing, and continuing to learn how to surf. Creative outlets (other than acting) include writing and playing the piano or guitar. My simple pleasures are sitting in the sun (preferably near the ocean), making tea, reading, and listening to music.

Industry Experience

This year I am a Next Gen programme participant for Indian Ink Theatre, I am a union member and a youth committee member for Equity New Zealand, I am a youth advisory panel member for PAYPA (Performing Arts and Young People of Aotearoa), and I’m signed with Odd Management.
My mahi this year has involved work with the NZ International Comedy Festival, the Director’s & Editor’s Guild of New Zealand, and the NZ International Film Festival. In these roles I have been a co-producer, a production runner, a venue manager, and more. I also have other mahi experiences in different industries which have allowed me to apply different skills within this industry.
Personal creative projects currently include a short film I am producing set to be filmed in November, a theatre stage production I am producing set to have its first season staged in February 2024, and a showcase of devised work that I’m working with an ensemble to stage in a few months time.
