Fletcher Oxford is an actor, musician, director, writer and performing arts coach.
He made his television debut as an actor in the TVNZ/Warner Brothers production of ‘Black Hands’, aired in 2020. Fletcher was acquainted with TVNZ years before as a contestant on ‘New Zealand’s Got Talent’, 2012, in which he placed 5th.
After being selected to join the ‘Young Shakespeare Company’ in 2018, Fletcher trained in Elizabethan style theatre at the Globe Theatre in London. In the same year, he was awarded an NZQA drama scholarship; placed in the top 1% of his cohort and one of 7 in New Zealand with an ‘Outstanding’ grade.
Also a vocalist, Fletcher has lead the stage in many musical theatre productions, including Beauty and the Beast, Shrek the Musical, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, West Side Story, Les Misérables, and many more.
Fletcher’s directing credits include: ‘Shrek the Musical’, performed at Baycourt Theatre in 2021, An award winning performance of ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’, showcased at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington, and a handful of short films, including a 2020 nationally acclaimed short film titled, ‘The Gatekeeper’.
Fletcher has recently worked as the 1st Assistant Director on a Bay of Plenty indie horror film; a full length feature produced by Apex Pictures.
