The edges of Mōtītī Island are lined with pōhutukawa, clinging to rocky cliffs. Its lush, green topography is gently undulating. Mōtītī Island is privately owned with locals growing produce such as avocados. There are no shops on Mōtītī Island. Food is either grown on the island, or sent over on the 10-minute flight from Tauranga.
