A historic Māori Village
This authentic living Māori village is home to the Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao people who use the natural geothermal resources to cook, bathe and heat their homes. Featured in the village are historical landmarks and buildings, including an active marae (meeting grounds and focal point of Maori communities), the WWII Memorial Archway, historic churches, and tapu (sacred) burial grounds.
